On the Earth, we are
sons and daughters of nature, siblings long before we forge bonds of
religion, race, gender, or nationality.

Poem:
Children of the Earth
|
|
Earth whispers with a voice, gentle and soft
Land is my bosom
Sea is my soul
Wind is my breath
Sky is my heart
And you are all my children
Earth whispers in a voice
filled with longing
Feel the sun
tingling on your skin
Hear the whispers
of the moon and stars
Hear the radiant symphony
of nature
Speaking with one voice.

Citizens of the Earth
Humans are a part of nature,
although sometimes we forget. We are inextricably bonded to the
earth. Mago's Dream author Ilchi Lee has said:
"I believe that the universe and the Earth and our brain are
one. Our brain is connected with all of our internal organs and
cells, and it is even connected with the molecules and atoms and
electrons in our body. I believe that, from the smallest electrons,
throughout our whole body and brain, our consciousness is connected
with the entire universe and the Earth."
When we consciously recognize and enhance this connection, we can
experience healing of our bodies, minds, and emotions. In the same
way, our actions and way of life have the potential to heal the
earth. When we take action to heal the earth, then our hearts and
minds naturally also benefit.
What action would you like to take? There is so much buzz about this
issue on the airways right now. Many people and experts are
talking about how to live a green lifestyle.
For our part, in addition to our contribution to health, happiness,
and peace through our products, BEST Life Media is currently
supporting the non-profit International Brain Education Association (IBREA),
of which Ilchi Lee is president. It has begun an Earth Citizen
Movement with the hope that all citizens of the earth will come
together to help each other and the earth.
To accomplish this seemingly large task, IBREA reminds us of numbers.
What if you just gave $1 a month, or $12 per year toward helping the
earth and the humans that live on it? Then what if you told 10
people, and then they told 10 people, and then they told 10 people,
who all gave just $12 a year for the earth? How soon would you reach
100 million people around the globe who are voting with their
hard-earned dollars for this precious earth? Ilchi Lee calls 100
million the tipping point for changing global consciousness to one
that recognizes peace and cooperation, and that takes care of the
earth on which we live.
The first funds raised by this project will go to the United Nations
Millennium Development Goal of preventing parent to child
transmission of HIV. UNICEF's "Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission"
(PMTCT) program provides education and empowerment for preventing HIV
transmission, as well as for vocation and mental health. Programs
such as PMTCT can generate hope and motivation for a way of living
that can change our future.
If you would like to learn more about the Earth Citizen Movement,
or become part of it, you can go to the IBREA website, http://ibreaus.org/us/about/106.html, or email

Tree Meditation:
Connecting to the Earth
Everything on the earth is, first and foremost,
connected by breath. We breathe in the air that others have breathed
out. This cycle is repeated endlessly, encircling all forms of life
on earth. We can feel life through our breath.
Trees and other plants are most important in this relationship
because they produce the oxygen we need and take in the carbon
dioxide that we exhale. Through a simple meditation we can connect
to the earth through our breath and through the life of a tree.
It is best done outdoors, surrounded by trees, but it can also be
done indoors.
First relax your mind and body. Close your eyes and imagine a tree
in front of you, its strong branches packed with healthy leaves and
filled with vitality. Breathe in the oxygen that the tree pumps out.
Feel it generating the life energy of your body. Breathe out the
carbon dioxide that feeds the tree, and imagine how it maintains the
tree's life.
Feel the air as it enters through your nose and into your body.
Feel every particle, every molecule, of the air as it flows
through your nose, mouth, and into your lungs, being absorbed
by each single cell in your body. Feel the refreshing and literally
life-giving pleasure provided by the simple act of inhaling. Now
exhale, letting your body relax, newly invigorated.
See the tree again. Feel the tree through your breath. Feel the
life of the tree transmitted through the air and embedded deep within
the earth. From the earth to the tree, from the tree to you, from you
back to the tree, the cycle of life and energy can be sensed, not on
an imaginative plane, but palpably, in reality.
Through this cycle of breathing, we learn that our lives are not
separate and isolated, not even for a moment. Breathe with the tree,
and you will feel the inescapable oneness that connects us to one
another and to the earth.
Ultimately, a tree is a tree, the earth, and the universe. It is
you, it is me, and it is all of humanity. When we realize this, we
will treat each other, and nature, as we ourselves would like to be
treated.
