Best Life Media is proud to announce that The Power Brain: Five Steps to Upgrading Your Brain Operating System by Ilchi Lee (Best Life Media, 2016) received a 2017 Living Now Book Award. Each year, special Living Now Awards are presented to books that stand out and impress the judges in the areas of Mind, Body and Spirit. The Power Brain won this year’s Mind award; the book describes why our minds and our brains have so much trouble cooperating.
This book acts as a user’s manual for the brain, with practical mind-body exercises that connect brain and mind together to work for one’s goals and life—from health to relationships to creative projects. In their press releaase, award organizers Jenkins Group and its IndependentPublisher.com noted: “ ‘Your mind must change first, but after that initial intellectual shift, your brain itself requires deliberate and prolonged training to truly change,’ says Lee. ‘When you feel the difference between changing your mind and actually changing your brain, you’ll be on the way to self mastery.’ ”
Now in its ninth year, the Living Now Book Awards were created to celebrate the innovation and creativity of this year’s best world-changing books, or “books for better living.” Winners are chosen for their “unique ability to enrich readers’ lives and promote global sustainability.” This year, 104 gold, silver, and bronze medals were given to books in 34 categories, ranging from coloring books and cooking to enlightenment and meditation. Awards Director Jim Barnes says, “This year’s medalists demonstrate how inspirational a good book can be. Books are a lifeline in a storm, giving readers solid, helpful information when they need it most.”
Jenkins Group in Traverse City, Michigan is a book packaging and marketing firm dedicated to promoting books. It produces IndependentPublisher.com, a publication intended to promote the work of indie booksellers, publishers, and authors. The awards are open to all books in English and intended for the North American market.
Best Life Media is honored to have brought this book to the world and hopes that many people use it to, as Ilchi Lee says, “Take back your brain.”
